The EP6224-0522 IO-Link module enables the connection of up to four IO-Link devices. These can be actuators, sensors, or a combination of both. On the M12 sockets with the Class A ports, a digital input with timestamp is additionally available, which indicates the time of the last edge change with a resolution of 1 ns. This technology enables signal curves to be traced exactly over time and correlated with the distributed clocks throughout the system. What’s more, machine-wide parallel hardware wiring of digital inputs or encoder signals for synchronization purposes is often no longer required with this technology. This facilitates the possibility of responses with equidistant time intervals, which are largely independent of the bus cycle time. The other four M12 ports have eight digital combination channels, each of which can be used as an input or output. The EtherCAT Box is parameterized via the EtherCAT master. The service data of the IO-Link devices can be transferred directly from TwinCAT via ADS or very conveniently via the integrated IO-Link configuration tool.  In the standard setting, the IO-Link channels operate as standard 4-channel inputs (24 V DC), which communicate with connected IO-Link devices as required, parameterize them, and change the operating mode if necessary. Each IO-Link port can be used either as an IO-Link port, a standard 24 V DC input, or as a 24 V DC/0.2 A output. The integration of IO-Link and timestamp makes the box ideal for applications such as the detection of print marks or other time-critical processes.  Special features: IO-Link V1.1 Convenient sensor parameterization in TwinCAT Additional timestamp input on the M12 port
