The KL8500 from the manual operating module series serves as a placeholder for other KL85xx modules and is an electrically functionless unit. The placeholder module can be used, for example, to avoid the necessity for further mechanical work on the control cabinet following the installation if the number of I/O points should increase. The module covers the cut-out in the control cabinet in such a way that a functional manual operating device can be retrofitted simply by exchanging the module.
